Role Focus

As the Senior HSE Advisor, your focus will be to advise and coach the Project Manager and Site Manager, continually developing the safety and training culture on the project.

Your principal responsibilities will include:  

• Maintain and monitor compliance of the SMS and ensure Project Safety Plans are maintained;

• Manage subcontractor relationships

• Lead and champion involvement from the project team to build on a proactive safety culture;

• Provide leadership and promote project safety initiatives and ensure these initiatives have adequate support and resources;

• Oversee weekly and monthly reporting requirements;

Your Experience

Your previous experience in a safety capacity on a commercial construction project will be essential, as will your communication and interpersonal skills enabling you to develop strong relationships with project leadership across multiple projects. Your construction industry experience will be supported by formal safety related qualifications, and you will hold a solid working knowledge of WHSE related legislation.

Your Role

Responsible for the development, implementation, and management of the IMS and the execution of specific programs across projects ensuring compliance, your principal responsibilities will include the: 

• Management of the IMS and implementation of Safety (ISO45001), Environmental (ISO14001) and Quality (ISO9001) Management Systems

• Evaluation, implementation and oversight of compliance management initiatives and the mentoring of corporate executives, project leadership and subcontractors, in combination with active support of the project based HSE functions in compliance and best practice 

• Implementation and maintenance of the site compliance and management tech stack and the championing of related ongoing training 

• Continual review and implementation of safety documentation including SWMS, policies and procedures and management of change across the business for new requirements  

• Liaison and consultation with key external stakeholders including regulatory bodies 

• Management of internal audit schedule and coordination of third-party audits for accreditation  

• Preparation of weekly, monthly, and annual reports

You

Your previous experience in a systems role within the engineering and construction sectors will demonstrate your technical capabilities and relevant knowledge. Your communication and interpersonal skills will exhibit your abilities to develop strong relationships and be recognised as an advisor to corporate executives and multiple project leadership teams. Your industry experience will be supported by formal safety related qualifications, and you will hold a solid working knowledge of relevant Acts, Regulations and ISO 45001, ISO 14001 and ISO 9001.
